THE SCREENPLAY

Early Story Notes

Mechanics of the "Dayglass" Universe

The First Draft

The most interesting scene that was eventually removed from the "Dayglass" screenplay also happened to be part of the very first draft we wrote. In the earliest of drafts, Chair Man did not follow Hero up the beach. Ophelia had also not yet been written in to help Hero get past his inner demons. So, Hero was left all by himself to reach the hourglass and find the door home. Instead of an endless stairway, there was a landbridge that connected the beach to the hourglass. More details about the landbridge can be found above, in the "Mechanics..." document.

The Final Draft

The screenplay is still technically not finished, since we're going to be re-writing the scenes that we haven't shot yet. But if you're interested, you can read the 14th draft of the screenplay, exactly the way it was on March 22nd, 2007.
